Goldhanger 50th Anniversary
Kestrel Open Meeting - 6th/7th June, 2009

The Goldhanger Sailing Club has been preparing for their 50th Anniversary for approximately 18 months. Not only will there be the traditional superb hospitality and surroundings, but they will be turbocharged.

The club perimeters have been cut back to the boundaries by working parties, providing abundant Car and Kestrel parking facilities. A marquee will be erected for the evening celebrations, which will include a professionally run HOG ROAST accompanied by the Goldhanger salads and desserts prepared by the Lady members.

A contingent is even expected from the Costa Del Dundee. Any visitors wishing to extend their stay beyond the weekend will be able to leave their boats locked in the club grounds for safekeeping. Camping will not be available at the Club beyond the weekend though, due to the restrictions required in order to maintain the organic status of our Landlords – Wilkins of Tiptree. Camping and Caravan site facilities are available within the village for those who do wish to extend their stay and use Goldhanger as a base for visiting London or the East coast generally. Please contact Rod Brown-Lee on 01442883424 (24 hour contact number) or email rodbl@globalnet.co.uk for details.

Further details regarding the race programme, Evening Meal/Breakfast bookings etc. will be published in the April Kestrel Magazine.
