Filey Nationals - Header

LOCATION
The 2009 National Championship is to be held at Filey S.C. from Saturday 1st August through to and including Tuesday 4th August.

Filey Sailing Club is situated to the north of Filey town nestling on the cliffs at the edge of The North Sea.
Filey Bay is protected by a large natural outcrop of land called The Brigg which serves as a barrier to the heavy seas and swells from the North to almost Westerley winds.

An interactive map showing the location of Filey Sailing Club can be viewed on the following link: Filey Sailing Club location.

ENTRIES
The KOA 2009 Nationals Entry Form can be downloaded from the following link: 2009 Nationals Entry Form.

ENTRY FEE
£124.00 per boat.

CAMPING
£10 per pitch per night, this includes car parking ticket of £5.00 per day. 1 tent equals 1 pitch. 1 campervan equals 1 pitch. Campers must not arrive before 12 noon on Friday 31st July and must leave before 12 noon on Wednesday 5th August. Porta’ Loos will be provided. All other facilities will be at the club which will be open in the morning at 9.30 am. For those wishing to stay before or after the event, there is a municipal site almost next door. You will need to book very early, as this gets very busy in the summer.

FRIDAY EVENING
Meet-and-Mingle. A social evening at the club to meet the Filey members who are making this event possible and the Vortex fleet who are sharing the Saturday and Sunday with us. A cold buffet and a welcome drink provided. Drinks consumed at the club must be purchased from the club (not own brought).

SATURDAY EVENING
Barbecue-to-Music night. Live band playing music that we can all sing along to. Food and music free. Drink consumed at the club must be bought from the club.

SUNDAY EVENING
Club will be closed to the Kestrel Association. A visit to the coastguard control centre in Bridlington to see how our modern coastguards control and keep a close watch on shipping in the North Sea has been organised. Unfortunately they can only take 20 people. Please enter your interest in this visit on the Race Entry form. Depending on numbers interested will determine how we organise it. We will have to organise our own transport for the twenty mile round trip.

MONDAY EVENING
The Kestrel AGM will be at the clubhouse. For those who wish to eat in, a Chinese take away will be delivered to the club. Your orders and payment will be taken the day before. This event is fancy dress and the theme is Chinese costumes. This year there will be a prize for the best looking costume and the worst attempt as well.

TUESDAY EVENING
The prize giving buffet meal will be at the clubhouse. Price will be £8.00 per head. Money to be sent with the entry form.

ADDITIONAL TICKETS
Extra social event tickets for non-racers to cover the cost of the Welcome Buffet and Barbecue: £10.00 per head.
